We need to support this, doctors are fighting for you, me, the corrupt GMC is using its clout money, no surprise there, to try to prevent legal action. The public can’t afford to stand by and do nothing. The future of our health care is at stake, determining if yiu see a Dr or a PA with just 2yrs.

The primary trust we have in our NHS is access to trained doctors both in primary care and in hospital. It is being put at risk by the recruitment of ” medical professionals” and “physician associates ” in place of qualified trained physicians. The GMC and Govt failing us and giving an unequal NHS.

How many regulatory bodies face legal action from large numbers of their members? Regardless of the legal verisimilitudes, the GMC should acknowledge that the mere existence of this campaign is a damning indictment, and that they require wholesale reform.

Not a doctor but fully support your aims and those of the doctors striking for full pay restoration. Fight hard, your cause is just!

Thank you for this legal challenge to the GMC. Whilst not wanting to undermine physician and nurse associates, their remit & responsibilities must be clear and safe. They must not replace doctors & nurses, of whom we need 1000s more, but support them in delivering safe & good care.

Doctors train for at least five years. They have invested in this training.

The founding principle of the NHS for all be enabled to gain access to a qualified Dr for initial diagnosis is bring eroded. Ask “Are you a qualified Dr ? ” Fight against American style privatisation and fragmentation.

Very worthwhile case – need to look at competences of pharmacists too, IMHO

We have the same problem in GP. No problem working with PAs ( I train them) but 100% agree that there needs to be a clear delineation and clear responsibility. PA/AA needs to fully responsible for every of their decisions/actions and patients need to know who is treating them

As a retired consultant anaesthetist, who spent years advocating for patient safety, it is crucial to ensure that we all receive the highest standard of care. There is no room for diluting standards of safety to save money.

There needs to be clear and comprehensive guidance and scope. You cannot have a system where a doctor holds liability for a PA without a clear scope and guidance.

‘PA’s and ‘AA’s are NOT ‘associates’. No other profession in the world has ‘associates’ who are not members of the profession: lawyers, solicitors, architects, engineers, accountants, priests, etc. Patients must give informed consent, not be misled, the GMC should not regulate PA/AAs. Integrity.

The GMC needs to put the interests of patients at heart and not simply become an organ of government policy

As a radiographer I see the scope creep happing in our hospital and I hope this action can stop dangerously under qualified people playing at being doctors. I won’t ever accept ionising radiation requests from PAs! Let’s stop the madness

I’m a doctor. I work with PA’s daily witnessing the misrepresentation of roles and mismanagement of patients. Our government and governing bodies are wilfully failing to protect patients and the medical profession. I felt utterly powerless, but now at least there’s hope.

Doctors have a duty to raise patient safety concerns. It’s appalling that the GMC won’t listen to these. Time to take a stand for our patients and to maintain that standards of medical qualifications.
